Amy is a freelance reporter seeking a story when she is attacked in an alley. She is barely aware when her attacker is tossed like a leaf away from her, but gets enough of a glimpse of her savior that she later recognizes him from a photograph. Why would this Marcus fellow, a rich, somewhat reclusive playboy be down in a rough area of town and intercede on her behalf? Sensing a story she goes after an interview, which he surprisingly grants. She quickly learns that Marcus is the vampire master of a pack of shape-shifter wolves. Marcus is a damaged soul; having lost the love of his long existence because she refused to be turned to stay with him beyond her normal human life span. Marcus and his wolves are animals who can carry off their façade as humans to varying degrees but they still are ruled by their animal instincts and wars between clans is in their past and must be guarded against even now. Alba (my favorite character) is a warrior female wolf married to Ivan the alpha wolf, but truth be told she is the power behind the wolves all of whom defend their vampire leader as well as their turf. Amy finds out she owes her very life to Alba as their was some debate about allowing her to live back in that alley once her attacker had been disposed of (remember these are basically extremely powerful animals). Swept up into a world she never knew existed, Amy quickly comes to realize she is falling in love with Marcus and he is infatuated with Amy. I'm a great fan of vampire novels, especially those where the vampire has some redeeming social value and the loyalty Marcus has to his pack of wolves as well as his sad tale of loss of the human he had loved, along with his growing love for Amy redeems him. Things get interesting early on in the story (the story is the thing in my opinion and this is a great story) so I won't spoil it for readers but I do highly recommend the book!Product details

Fast paced is not always a good thing. I enjoyed the book really I did ,but it left me wanting more information or content or description. The story was well thought out but rushed.I think this series has potential if the characters are fleshed out more. Give it a try ,maybe it's just me.

I've had this one on my kindle for a while and finally decided to pick it up. It turned out to be a pretty good late night read.
Amy was a likable character. She was strong, smart and more than a little brave. I liked her connection to Marcus.
Marcus was a great character too. He was broken and had more than enough reasons to resist Amy - or at least try to.
A lot of this story was predictable, and yes, it was corny at times but I still enjoyed it. I liked the supporting characters just as much as Amy and Marcus. I also liked the relationship that the author created between the wolves and vampires. It was familiar yet unique and for this story, it worked. There was plenty of mystery, action, heat a few surprises and more than a few heart breaking moments. Amy's Story had pretty much something for everyone.
This is the first book in the Fang Chronicles series and I will more than likely be checking out the rest.
I REALLY enjoyed this book!!! I fell in love with, Amy, Marcus and especially Alba! I don't want to give away any spoilers to those that haven't yet read it, but to anyone that is sensitive and can easily become emotional, I do recommend having a few tissues by your side. Regardless of this being a fictional story, it's easy to fall in love with these characters and when something happens that's unexpected and a complete shock, let's just say that for me, I cried A LOT. This was a GREAT first book in a series and D'Elen McClain is an amazing author!! In certain parts of the book, it made me laugh, which I desperately needed at the time so this book is ALWAYS going to be special to me and one I will NEVER forget. I would definitely recommend Amy's Story and I look forward to the next book.
What a fun, engrossing read! I'm pretty much a newcomer to the paranormal romance genre and this book was a delightful introduction to it. The pace is lively and the characters well developed and interesting. I'd even say they were believable except that...er... ah... I don't believe in vampires...but if I came across one like Marcus, well, I might have to rethink that! The writing was creative and there were unexpected twists, which kept me interested and turning the pages. One of the things I particularly liked was that Amy is the kind of woman who knows her mind (and heart) and doesn't beat around the bush deciding if she should or should not. I hate it when they can't make up their minds ) A really nice cover and no formatting issues add to the reading enjoyument. If you're a fan of this genre (and even if you're not but are looking for some take-your-mind-off-the-daily-grind reading) you'll definitely enjoy this first book in the Fang Chronicles. I'm ready for the next installment!
I really liked the plot and characters. This is a new twist on vampires and wolves. A vampire is king of the wolves -- that's way out there. The story was fast paced but very interesting and Victoria was a surprise. I also liked how this author wrote the prologue (200 years before the story begins, then present day). I would have given 5 stars, but a few times, the author switched POV during a chapter. For example, the chapter began with Marcus explaining his history with Victoria, but by the end of the chapter, I couldn't tell who was talking; but I knew it wasn't Marcus. So who's telling the story... From who's POV? I had to reread a few pages to figure out what was going on. Still I really liked this book. It was romantic, with mild sex scenes and a very unusual spin on vampires and wolves.
